New Face Spring 2012: Romee Strijd

Romee Strijd. 14 years young. Dutch. And upcoming.
She opened and closed the Christopher Kane show in London
From top to bottom: Celine - Cacharel - Hakaan - Jil Sander
From top to bottom: Alexander McQueen - Balmain - Nina Ricci - Yves Saint Laurent
From top to bottom: Isabel Marant - Loewe - Roland Mouret - Prada
She walked for Prada, Louis Vuitton and YSL. That says enough, right?!

What The Water Gave Me

Three designers, three whole new ideas of the waterworld.

Alexander McQueen
Sarah Burton made the most beautiful seacreatures for Alexander McQueen.
I'm speechless...

Chanel
This collection was 'under the sea, but not like mermaids'. Karl surprised us with modern shapes and graphic prints. There were ruffles, pearls, turquoises, the typical Chanel-jackets...everything a girl wants.

Givenchy
Riccardo Tisci wanted to show the more romantic side of him.
The inspiration: the lovestory between a surfer and a mermaid. The sensuality of the collection came from the mermaid and the more edgy pieces (those wetsuit inspired pants!) were inspired by swimwear. Mister Tisci showed us the waves, sunset, water and fish with his own very inspiring vision.

Miss Twiggy

I'm so in love with this sixties inspired spread for i-D. With model Abbey Lee Kershaw as the perfect look-a-like of Twiggy, shot by Richard Bush. I really like the dollish clothes and the oversized accessories.

LFW Spring 2012: Burberry Prorsum

What can you do with the trench coat? It seems like a challenge, but Christopher Bailey still succeeds.
For spring he took his inspiration from a millitary wife in the fifties, whose husband stays in the Far East. That reflects in the new length, just below the knee and the ethnic printed fabrics. And the color palette? Purple, mustard yellow, army green, aqua blue and powder pink.
What do you think about the collection?
